Presume Competence Tee

One of the most important responsibilities we have when working with the Disability community is the responsibility to presume competence. Presuming competence means that we begin relationships with others under the presumption that they have the full capacity to think, learn, connect, and understand. Our judgments about others’ capacities affect the depth of the relationships we forge with those around us. This shift in perspective is both powerful and essential.
