Individual Differences Informational Handout

An essential piece of DIR Floortime is the idea that every child contains individual processing differences. In fact, the term Individual Differences represents the "I" in DIR. When we begin working with children for the first time, it is imperative that we consider these differences when approaching our therapy methods.

Getting insight on a child's unique profile allows us to find the balance of following a child's lead while opening new doors for development and skill acquisition.

Understanding these differences also invites children to begin a relationship with us that is founded on safety, trust, and respect.
